A Commitment to Remembrance:
The greatest legacy of a generation is the history of its mistakes. The future progress of society relies on the lessons of its past. The obligation of passing on these lessons presses deeply on those who learned them first-hand.
Elly Gross is a Survivor, a witness to some of the most attrocious tragedies in written history. Through upheaval, war, revolution, and reconstruction, she has experienced many lifetimes' worth of stories.
Elly's commitment to Remembrance has become her mission in her twilight years. In an effort to ensure that her generations' legacies will not be lost by future generations, in the hope that those generations will not suffer through the same tragedies and that the lessons of history will be learned, she has devoted herself to recording and retelling these stories.
Elly's efforts have manifested into a series of books that portray the historical and emotional weight of her stories through a unique style of free-form poetry and exposition. She also frequently gives presentations at schools and museums to raise awareness of the necessity of rememberance.
Elly is always open to new opportunities to speak or become involved in a Remembrance related project. Please contact her here for more information.
